Training Center

In late 2021 Chief Ken Ashworth and Assistant Chief Zachary Adkins decided to further explore the possibility of utilizing our 3 acres of property and building a training facility. This facility was constructed for our department and surrounding departments. At the time, the closest live fire training facility was in Institute, West Virginia, over 35 miles and 2 counties away.

In early 2022 the two secured funding from local supporters APG Polytech and Redmen Bingo. A 3 firefighter committee was established to design and build a live fire training structure.

April 30, 2022 we conducted our first in house live fire burn in the burn building.

We hope to secure additional funding in the future for additional training props, equipment, and storage areas to further enhance our ability to train firefighters from the area to safely complete the tasks they need.

In addition to providing training to our members, our facility and instructors are available for other training as well. We provide American Heart Association CPR / AED / First Aid training, Fire Extinguisher Training, Facility rentals, and other training. If you’re interested in training at our facility contact us.
